Top Shot assists the batsman by correcting his/her alignment after the shot selection has been made by forcing the body into the correct position. The batsman’s grip on the handle should be placed in the correct position allowing the muscles to build memory and strength for free play.
Top Shot works for the basic fundamental shots in cricket. These shots are the stepping stones which are taught to all players and build the foundation of batting. A cricket shot can be broadly divided either as a front foot or a back foot shot. In other words, it is the footwork of the batsman from his stance either backwards or forwards depending on the length of the delivery that makes it either a back or front foot shot. Within this division the shot can again be a straight bat, attacking, defensive or cross batted shot.
